Teachers Behaving Badly Department: Elizabeth Miklosovic

Accused Pedophile
In yet another installment of a disturbing recent trend, teacher Elizabeth Miklosovic was arrested in South Haven, Michigan, on a charge of sexually molesting a 14-year-old female student.

The Baseline Middle School teacher was arraigned Thursday on a charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. She is facing a maximum of life in prison. Her bond has been set at $100,000. She remains in jail as of Saturday morning.

Miklosovic, who lives with another woman, is accused of taking her 14-year-old victim out into the woods and molesting her. It was while in the woods that are said to have exchanged "marriage vows." Some sexual encounters are alleged to have occurred in the teacher's home.

Here at the Education Wonks, we are just sickened that so many of my colleagues are engaging in this disgusting behavior. Each time that this occurs, it tars the reputation of one of our society's Noblest Professions, the instructors of our children.

We would encourage our legislators to enact laws that would be specifically aimed at Educators that breach the sacred bond of trust between teacher and student.

EdWonk's Note: When we launched the 'Wonks, it was never our intention to be a "scandal sheet." However, we have, and will, continue to publicize those instances when school administrators, teachers, and others that work in the field of education are accused of, or are found guilty of, abusing students and other children.
